  • Boom Cover

A Diekow mainsail cover reliably protects your main sail against UV radiation, wind and water. Our decades of sailing experience and the use of the newest of materials flow into the design of our boom cover.

UV radiation is the number one strain on your sail. It slowly deteriorates fabric integrity by fracturing fibres. The consequence: Your sail becomes brittle and breaks with only minimal strain. Repairs in such cases are impossible as damage is extensive. 100% acrylic fabric has stood the test of time as a UV and weather-proof textile for mainsail covers. We work with spinning nozzle coloured fabrics made by Masacril and Recasens, brands that stand for quality with their name.

A sail cover also stops dust and grime from soiling and staining your sail.

Chafing and abrasion are the next strain. Clean packing helps here. The mainsail cover prevents your sail from exposure to the wind and from fluttering and vibrating (which, in the long term, would harm your sail).

On board, you cannot always avoid packing your sail wet. The sail cover should not enclose the sail too tightly. Our mast collar prevents further permeation of moisture from the top. Due to their length, the quick-connect buckles underneath the main boom exact ventilation from the bottom. The contour of the sail cover loosely adapts to the shape of your furled sail. We also accounted for the mast rake and a slightly rising boom in our design.

The benefits of our mainsail cover are completed by a high quality, covered zipper.

We offer our mainsail cover in many different sizes and maritime colors.

Tip: It is important for your sail cover to be tighly spanned. If you are between sizes, we recommend going a size down.

    1) There may be slight colour deviation of our mainsail covers in photos. If you wish we can send you fabric samples, please use our fabric sampling service for this.
